1 — What Your Membership Includes

Every share, every pickup week:

• Market-style selection of field crops — you choose your items from the weekly harvest display
• Seedling: 6–8 field crop selections  |  Harvest: 9–12 field crop selections
• Rotating gourmet mushrooms from Bright Oasis Farm LLC, bi-weekly, included at no extra charge
• If microgreens add-on selected: weekly 1 oz (Seedling) or 2 oz (Harvest) rotating variety

All produce grown at Chestnut Hill Farm using organic practices — no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Mushrooms grown on certified organic substrate. Not USDA certified organic.

What market-style means

Rather than receiving a pre-packed identical box, you walk through a display of everything harvested that week and select the items you want up to your share allowance. You take home exactly what you will use. Nothing is assigned to you — you choose.

2 — Payment Terms & Billing

2.1 — Payment options

• Pay in full: Total amount due at signup. No further charges.
• Split payment: 50% due at signup. Remaining 50% automatically charged June 1, 2026 to the same payment method on file.

2.2 — Authorization for recurring charges

By selecting the split payment option, Member expressly authorizes Grafted Roots Farms LLC to charge the payment method on file for the remaining 50% installment on June 1, 2026. This authorization remains in effect unless cancelled in writing before June 15, 2026.

2.3 — Failed payments

If the scheduled June 1 split payment fails, the following process applies:

• Day 1: Automatic card retry. Automated email notification sent to member.
• Day 3: Personal email from Grafted Roots requesting resolution.
• Day 7: Final retry. Pickup access suspended until account is made current.
• Day 14: If payment remains unresolved, the full remaining balance becomes immediately due. The Farm reserves the right to pursue collection.

2.4 — Chargebacks and disputes

Member agrees to contact Grafted Roots Farms LLC directly to resolve any billing disputes before initiating a chargeback with their financial institution. Unauthorized chargebacks on valid charges will be disputed by the Farm with supporting documentation. Member may be responsible for any chargeback fees ($15 per dispute) incurred by the Farm as a result of an unjustified chargeback.

3 — Refund & Cancellation Policy

4 — Skip a Week Policy

Members may skip any pickup week without forfeiting that week's share value, provided notice is given by 11:59 PM on the Sunday before the scheduled pickup.

• Skipped shares are donated to a local food pantry on the member's behalf. A $10 credit will be applied to the member's account for each skipped week, redeemable toward a la carte purchases at any future pickup.
• Skipped weeks cannot be carried forward, rescheduled, or exchanged for cash.
• To skip: email hello@graftedrootsfarms.com with your name and pickup date by Sunday 11:59 PM.
• Members who do not pick up and do not provide advance notice forfeit that week's share. No credit is issued for unclaimed shares without advance notice.

5 — Member Responsibilities

By signing this agreement, Member agrees to:

• Arrive during the designated pickup window (3:00–6:00 PM Tuesday or Thursday).
• Bring appropriate bags or containers for produce. The Farm will have paper bags available but cannot guarantee supply.
• Notify the Farm of any food allergies or severe dietary restrictions in writing. The Farm will make reasonable accommodations but cannot guarantee avoidance of all allergens.
• Update payment information promptly if a card on file expires or is replaced. Member is responsible for ensuring all scheduled payments succeed.
• Treat farm staff, other members, and the property with respect. The Farm reserves the right to terminate a membership without refund in cases of disrespectful or harmful behavior.

6 — Farm Responsibilities

Grafted Roots Farms LLC commits to:

• Providing weekly pickup of fresh, seasonally appropriate produce for the full duration of the selected season.
• Including rotating gourmet mushrooms from Bright Oasis Farm LLC bi-weekly in every share at no additional charge.
• Communicating proactively about crop shortages, harvest delays, or changes to pickup schedule via email at least 48 hours in advance.
• Maintaining a market-style display that reflects the actual weekly harvest, with sufficient quantity to fulfill all active memberships.

6.1 — Shared risk

CSA membership is a shared-risk model. Member acknowledges that farming involves inherent uncertainty — weather, pests, disease, and other factors beyond the Farm's control may affect harvest quantity and variety in any given week. The Farm does not guarantee specific crops or quantities each week. In the event of a significant crop failure affecting more than 40% of expected harvest for three or more consecutive weeks, the Farm will offer pro-rated credit toward a future season.

7 — Farm Property & Liability

Chestnut Hill Farm is managed by The Trustees of Reservations. Members accessing the property agree to follow all posted rules and staff instructions.

• Children must be supervised by an adult at all times on the property.
• Pets are not permitted in the farm stand or produce display areas.
• Member assumes all risk of injury while on the property. Grafted Roots Farms LLC and The Trustees of Reservations are not liable for personal injury or property damage arising from member visits to the farm.
• Member agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Grafted Roots Farms LLC from any claims arising from member's use of farm products, including but not limited to foodborne illness resulting from improper storage or handling after pickup.

8 — Food Safety

All produce is harvested fresh and handled with care. Member is responsible for proper storage and handling of produce after pickup. Refrigerate perishables promptly. Wash all produce before consumption. Mushrooms should be refrigerated and consumed within 5–7 days of pickup. Microgreens should be refrigerated and consumed within 7 days.

9 — Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any disputes arising from this agreement that cannot be resolved directly between the parties shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Worcester County, Massachusetts, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The prevailing party in any dispute shall be entitled to recover reasonable legal fees.

10 — Entire Agreement

This document constitutes the entire agreement between Grafted Roots Farms LLC and Member. It supersedes all prior representations, warranties, or agreements, whether written or oral. The Farm reserves the right to update these terms for future seasons with written notice to all active members at least 30 days before such changes take effect.
